Farmer spotlight
Shimpling Farm
Alice and John Pawsey’s family have been farming at Shimpling since the 1890s. In 1999 they converted to organic production and since then they haven’t used any artificial chemical interventions or fertiliser on their land. And when you visit the farm this really shows. The meadows are full of a rich variety of grasses, flowers and clovers which makes the most wonderful grazing pasture for their sheep. They also farm crops on rotation with their livestock so that the excellent soil health and fertility is sustained.
