Jason Gathorne-Hardy’s flock at Great Glemham
Martin Durie at Kenton has a wonderful flock of Jacob sheep, slow-grown on varied pasture for a lovely rich flavour. He provides us with late summer and autumn lamb and hoggett (one year-old lamb).
Jason Gathorne-Hardy provides us with our delicious new season lamb from the lush meadows around the Alde river at Great Glemham.
Our mutton is very popular. It comes from Jason’s flock too, and has spent a long and happy life feasting on the varied wild flowers and herbage around his farm. It produces a wonderfully rich, complex flavour not to be missed. Try our ‘Mutton in Hay’ recipe!
We always hang our lamb for at least a week, which is quite unusual in the fast-moving retail world these days. This gives it a wonderful flavour and really helps the texture and tenderness. Mutton we will hang for even longer. Delicious.
