Sutton Hoo Whole Chicken Free Range

Sutton Hoo Chicken, is a name celebrated nationwide for their exceptional free-range chickens. Despite their national acclaim, they’re wonderfully local to us, meaning we have a long-standing, trusted relationship with founder and farmer Belinda who started Sutton Hoo Chicken over 30 years ago with her late husband Charles. Raised slowly on 40 acres of lush meadow near the historic River Deben, these chickens enjoy a truly free-range life of sunshine, open pasture, and a naturally rich diet, resulting in meat that’s tender, succulent, and full of authentic flavour - just like chicken used to taste.

> Roast and Braising

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven, or equivalent)
2. Remove any giblets from inside the body cavity
3. Cover with foil (to retain moisture) and cook for 45 minutes per kg plus an additional 20 minutes. Check the juices run clear before removing from the oven.
4. Cover and rest for at least 15 minutes before carving
