Gerard's Suggestion

"These gammons are so easy to glaze yourself. My kids love a coke glaze (naturally) and my wife often does a simple tin of peaches mixed with apple or pineapple juice. It can be as easy as that! "

Why you will love our Unsmoked Gammon, Free-Range...

  • Heritage breed and free-range pork from our local Suffolk pig farmers
  • Unsmoked, great for glazing or simmering then slicing as a roast
  • So delicious and a joy to have for cold leftovers

This wonderful gammon comes from one of our excellent heritage breed, free-range pigs and has been traditionally cured. We bone out the gammon and roll it for you, making carving an easy job. It's unsmoked and really simple to glaze after boiling. Once cooked, the ham will last for a week or two in your fridge (if you can make it last that long!) Or you can simmer this joint for a few hours, peel back the skin, slice and serve. Either way, these unsmoked gammons really are delicious.

All our pork comes from native breed, free-range pigs which are slow-grown and have had plenty of time to root and forage happily, resulting in a pork with lots of marbling and amazing flavour. These heritage breed pigs have been reared on small Suffolk farms by farmers who really care about their animals. We dry-age our pork for at least two weeks, which allows the meat to develop a deeper flavour, and helps the skin to dry out naturally, resulting in a cracking crackling.

A whole gammon normally weighs around 4.5kg - 5kg and can feed up to twenty people. If you're looking for something smaller, a half gammon is around 2.2kg - 2.8kg.

Want to know more?

Our exceptional pork comes from free-range pigs raised in the light, sandy soils of East Suffolk. This unique environment allows them to root and forage naturally, resulting in pork known for its traditional flavour, excellent marbling, and a delicious fat covering for perfect crackling. We source our heritage breed pork from a select group of local farms, including the wonderful 'British Lops' from Thatched House Farm on the Broads, where our farmers prioritise first-rate animal welfare and husbandry. These close partnerships ensure consistently high-quality pork with exceptional flavour and texture. To enhance its character and ensure excellent crackling, we dry-age the pork on the bone for up to two weeks in our hanging chiller.
