Gerard's Suggestion
A delicious and economical joint of the chicken, thighs are perfect to roast for a simple supper
Chicken thighs are delicious. Often overlooked, they are extremely versatile. These thighs are on the bone, skin-on, which helps the meat to stay succulent during cooking. They make a great simple tray bake, but also work excellently braised or slow cooked in dishes such as chicken curry or coq au vin.
Perfect for families, they're good value and can be roasted quickly in the oven for a satisfying mid-week supper.
One thigh weighs approx. 135g . Two each, I reckon.

Gerard's Suggestion
Our Suffolk-farmed chickens are raised with care and to excellent welfare standards. Whilst we always like to offer free-range meat, we also understand the importance of providing choice and a more economical option.
These chickens are reared in spacious, airy barns, at a local farm at Haughley near Bury St. Edmunds. Extreme care is taken by the farmer to ensure that his birds have plenty of room and opportunity to behave in a completely natural way. We feel confident that these chickens are the highest quality alternative to free-range that we can find.

1. Sear the skin evenly in a pre-heated pan with a crushed garlic clove and a mixture of oil and butter.
2. Once the skin is browned and crispy, turn over and and cook for a further 5 minutes (no need to move around the pan too much).
3. Place in a pre-heated oven at 180°C (fan oven, or equivalent) for 10-15 minutes.
4. Take the thighs out of the oven and rest (check the juices run clear). Enjoy
